So, Is Avengers: Infinity War a Christian story? I believe that the answer is yes - it absolutely can be! When viewed in a Christian light, there is an enormous amount of parallels that can be drawn. Not only for the main character of Thanos, but also for his followers, The Black Order. The end of the Marvel Universe as we know it can easily be compared to the Christian Apocalypse. There are also an abundance of Christ figures present in the film, namely Iron Man, Captain America and Thor. There is evidence to support that the goal of Thanos is to divide the population of Earth into Heaven and Hell, just like in the Christian concept of Judgement Day. In addition, the movie also explores many Christian concepts and themes, including the Metanarrative of God, sacrifice, good versus evil, and fate. I strongly encourage you to give the movie another watch (or if you haven't seen it yet - do yourself a favour and watch it for the first time) with this perspective in mind. You may be surprised by all the connections you can make!
